International Labor Organization in Cambodia, Laos and Thailand, met to discuss work related to the progress of cooperation and consideration of new projects.
Phnom Penh: Samdech Krala Hom Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, stated that Cambodia will hold the upcoming 5th Mandate Commune / Sangkat Council Election in accordance with the Constitution of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
During a working meeting with Professor Vitith Montabun, Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Cambodia on March 15, 2022, Samdech Sar Kheng said, “In 2022, Cambodia will hold the fifth mandate commune elections. In accordance with the Constitution of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and also the commitment of the Royal Government of Cambodia to strive for the implementation of decentralization and deconcentration reforms in the transfer of power and Resources to the sub-national level as well.
He added that 17 political parties have registered their candidates in this election, and he has always spoken and issued instructions to the authorities at all levels to facilitate the activities of those political parties, he welcomed the information. Related to the challenges in this work.
Separately, the party that was removed from the list of political parties, Samdech Sar Kheng said that the law has opened the right to appeal the decision to cancel, and for the perpetrators, the Ministry of Interior has arranged to follow the procedure by filing a complaint. Court to take further action in accordance with the law.
On that occasion, Professor Vithit Montabun thanked Prince Sar Kheng for his constructive discussions and mutual understanding.
